Ephesians 2:10 · WEBOur lives are not without purpose. In Christ, we are God’s workmanship, created for the good works that He has prepared for us. Before we begin searching for an assignment, let’s settle our hearts in this truth: we belong to God, and He is at work within us.
Purpose is not something we must invent to make our lives meaningful. It is something we discover as we grow in our relationship with God. He shapes our desires, develops our gifts and opens our eyes to the opportunities to serve that are already around us.
Sometimes we become so focused on a future calling that we overlook the completeness of our present obedience. A word of encouragement, an act of generosity or faithfulness in a responsibility may look ordinary, yet each can become an expression of God’s work through us.
As this month begins, bring your life before the Father with an open and surrendered heart. Ask Him to help you recognize the good works He is placing before you. You do not need to prove your worth through activity. From your place of belonging in Christ, you can walk faithfully in what He has prepared.
I am God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works. My life belongs to God, and I receive grace to recognize and walk in the opportunities He prepares for me. I will not overlook today’s obedience while waiting for tomorrow’s assignment.
Father, thank You for creating me with purpose and making me Your own in Christ. Open my eyes to the good works before me today. Develop what You have placed within me, and help me serve faithfully from a heart secure in Your love rather than a need to prove myself.
