Therefore I urge you, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service. Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God.
Romans 12:1–2 · WEBGod’s purpose is not discovered only through new information. It also requires a daily surrendered life and a renewed mind. When we offer ourselves to Him, we are making room for His truth to shape how we think, choose and live.
We may want clear direction while still holding tightly to a preferred outcome. We ask God to lead, yet hope His instruction will confirm what we have already decided. Surrender brings those desires into the open and places them before Him honestly.
The renewing of our minds is an ongoing work. Through Scripture and the ministry of the Holy Spirit, God exposes patterns that do not reflect His will. He teaches us to recognize the difference between the expectations around us and the obedience He is asking of us.
Today, offer God more than the decision you need Him to resolve. Offer Him your motives, assumptions and willingness to change. His mercy is the foundation of this surrender, not a reward you must earn through it. Allow His truth to transform your thinking so that your next step grows from a heart increasingly aligned with Him.
I offer my life to God in response to His mercy. My mind is being renewed by His truth, and my heart is willing to be changed. I submit my preferred outcomes to His leadership and receive grace to walk in right alignment with Him.
Father, receive my life afresh today. Reveal the motives, assumptions and desires I have held beyond Your reach. I receive the grace to renew my mind through Your Word. Help me recognize Your will without demanding that it agree with my preferences. Make my surrender sincere and my obedience a response to Your mercy.
