Wait for the LORD. Be strong, and let your heart take courage. Yes, wait for the LORD.
Psalm 27:14 · WEBWaiting on the Lord is not the abandonment of faithfulness. Psalm 27 joins waiting with strength and courage, reminding us that our hearts need to remain engaged with God while the answer is still before us.
There is a difference between releasing control and becoming passive. We can surrender an outcome while continuing to pray, fulfill our responsibilities and respond to the truth God has made clear. Waiting does not remove the opportunities for obedience already within reach.
At the same time, activity is not always progress. We may fill the waiting with unnecessary tasks because stillness makes us uncomfortable. The question is not how much we can do to make the answer arrive, but how faithfully we can respond to God within the season we are living.
Today, ask Him what needs your attention and what needs to remain in His hands. Care for the relationships, commitments and spiritual rhythms that support your growth. Where you are tired, receive encouragement rather than pretending you are strong. Waiting with courage means continuing to turn toward Him, even when the change you hope for has not yet come.
I wait on the Lord with faith and an attentive heart. I remain faithful in what He has entrusted to me and release what I cannot control. I receive strength and courage for this season, and I will not confuse surrender with drifting.
Father, strengthen my heart while I wait. Show me what needs faithful attention and what I need to release into Your hands. Keep me from both passivity and anxious activity. Help me continue in prayer, care for my responsibilities and receive the encouragement You provide for this season.
Amen.
